Let’s visit Eastern Europe the right way. We start in the Baltic north, at the triplet cities of Gdynia, Sopot and Gdansk. Here the Hanseatic city of Danzig controlled much of the commerce of the area and it’s wealth is reflected in the outstanding housing stock of its Old Town. Fiercely stubborn, this was the birthplace of the trade unions that initiated the eventual downfall of Soviet Communism. Warsaw is well-known but little understood. Although withstanding the savagery of World War II with little undamaged, this capital city has witnessed a renaissance that is second only to Berlin. In the Czech Republic, Goodspeed will introduce you to Prince Lobkowicz as we visit his private palace in Prague or his castle in Nelahozeves. The tiny capital of Bratislava opens up her secrets and Budapest’s chefs await our visit. Join us!
